All Books are By or About Women and are mainly Second-hand.
We offer good quality books at affordable prices.


Books are priced according to their condition, size, popularity, availability etc...

Most are sold at about half the RRP (Recommended Retail Price) and will usually be in good or very good condition.

Books of £3 or less should not be expected to be in Mint condition.

There will be an indication of the condition on the details section of each book.

Books of £5 or over are either in - Very Good / Mint condition,
are Large and/or Heavy, Recent, New, or have a RRP of well over £10.

POSTAGE RATES - UK

For orders of 5 books or more the postal rates may be cheaper, so when we receive your phone call or an e-mail enquiry, we will work out the overall costs for you and reply to you with a quote.

Once you have sent an enquiry, we will then "reserve" the titles for you for a 2 week period. If we do not hear from you again during that period (i.e. you havn't confirmed the order) we will then place the items back up for sale.

The more items you order the cheaper the postage will be!

OUTSIDE THE UK


Please contact us (e-mail, post or by phone) with your prospective order and delivery address.

We will then work out the postage costs and give you a quote with these costs, listing the available titles and expected delivery times. We accept Euros in note form.

We will try and get the cheapest rates (including insurance cover) for you!

EXTRA LARGE BOOKS

There are some extra large books (or heavy) in the catalogue and these have a seperate postal cost, unless ordered with more than 5 books...

It is usually mentioned in the product description and we will inform you of this when giving you a quote.

Please ALWAYS check the details on the required titles.

DELIVERY

We will try and get your order off to you ASAP (Usually as soon as your payment clears!), but occasionally we can get extremely busy, so please be patient!

We will let you know if there is any likelihood of a delay at the time of ordering.

Please allow up to 14 days for delivery.

   

 

SOLD

If an item (book, video, print etc) you require has been sold:

We will inform you when we reply to your order/enquiry.



If you have sent off the order before confirming availability, and the title(s) have been sold then you can either:

1) Suggest alternative title(s)

2) Receive a credit slip

3) Have a refund

4) Wait for a replacement copy
  b (this could take a while for secondhand books).

Please state which option you would like when placing your order...

A credit slip will automatically be sent - unless an alternative has been selected!

BUYING BOOKS

We Do buy / purchase books...

If you would like to sell us some books, email (or phone, write) to us first (you can enclose a list if you wish) and I will get back to you asap.

In order for me to sell books at affordable prices, we try to keep our purchase costs down!

Though you will still find our prices very reasonable.

VIEWING

We do not have a shop yet, but this is our aim!

However, if you are in the area and would like to view the books, you are more than welcome to visit.

But please make an appointment first!!! (phone, write or email)

 

MAIL-LIST


Once your name has been added to the mail-list, you will receive updated lists via e-mail and/or very occasionally a catalogue or monthly list (when we do them) by post.

Please state whether you would prefer either Fiction or Non Fiction titles, both or a particular section (See the catalogue area for the sections).

If we haven't heard from you for a year or so, we will assume you No longer wish to be on the list and will delete your details.

Order Cancellations:

If you do not want any of the items that you have ordered (for any reason), you have a cancellation period in which you can cancel the order and return the goods.

If this happens:

  1. Contact us to let us know (either by email or letter) within seven working days from receipt of the goods.
  2. Once you have contacted us (and we have confirmed this) you can then send (post or deliver) the order back to us.
  3. Once we have received the order back (and provided it is still in the condition it was sent to you in), we will then refund your money (within 30 days).
  4. You can if you wish ask to - exchange the items, or let us give you a credit slip for the value of the goods.

Please let us know your choice when you contact us.

 

LOSS/DAMAGE

If your order has been lost (in the post) or arrives damaged we will do everything possible to help retrieve your order, or claim your money back (from the postal service)! If this is not achievable we will then refund your money.

All orders are dispatched using proofs of purchase, which we will use, to chase up the postal service in the event of a loss or damage.

Once your order has been despatched we will send you an email (if you have given us an email address) to let you know that we have despatched the order.

If you then have not received the goods within 5 working days after receipt of an email, please contact us again so we can chase up the postal service - Thank You!

RETURNS - Individual titles:

If you are unhappy with an individual item in an order.

  1. Contact us to let us know (either by email or letter) within seven days from receipt of the goods.
  2. Once you have contacted us you can then send (post) the item back to us.
  3. Once we have received the item back and provided it is still in the condition it was sent to you in, we will then either refund your money, let you exchange the item, or give you a credit slip for the value of the goods.

Please let us know your choice when you contact us.

 

Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000:

The regulations give you (the consumer) the opportunity to examine the goods or consider the nature of a service.

If you wish to cancel an order, written notice must be given to us by:

  • goods = 7 working days from the day after that on which the goods are received by you.
  • services = 7 working days from the day after that on which the consumer agrees to go ahead with the contract.

 

DATA PROTECTION

We do keep a small database with names and addresses and these are kept in the strictest confidence and abide by all Data Protection Acts.

They are only for our own personal marketing / information use and are NOT passed on to any third parties!
